Mismagius Unbroken Bonds 78/214

Mismagius is a card that was actually banned from the Standard and Expanded formats. Its Ability causes it to be Knocked Out but allows you to draw 7 cards. In combination with the Dusk Stone Trainer card, which allowed you to evolve Misdreavus Turn 1, you could chain this Ability very quickly.

The reason why it was so bad to Knock Out Mismagius so quickly is that you could use it alongside ‘comeback’ Trainer cards such as Reset Stamp to destroy your opponent’s hand before they could even play.

Interestingly, along with Bellelba and Brycen-Man, when Mismagius was banned, a new, far weaker version of Mismagius was released as a SM Promo. This bizarre “replacement” was released once Generation 8 had already started, resulting in very little time in Standard.
